Job Summary

  • Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including material, labor, and equipment costs.
  • Monitor and manage project costs to ensure adherence to budgets, identifying cost-saving opportunities and addressing cost overruns promptly.
  • Perform quantity take-offs and measurements from architectural and engineering drawings to facilitate accurate pricing.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant construction industry standards, regulations, and statutory requirements.
  • Collaborate effectively with project managers, architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure smooth project execution.

Job duties and responsibilities
    • Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including material, labor, and equipment costs.
    • Monitor and manage project costs to ensure adherence to budgets, identifying cost-saving opportunities and addressing cost overruns promptly.
    • Perform quantity take-offs and measurements from architectural and engineering drawings to facilitate accurate pricing.
    • Ensure compliance with relevant construction industry standards, regulations, and statutory requirements.
    • Collaborate effectively with project managers, architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure smooth project execution.
    • Prepare tender documents, evaluate bids, and recommend suitable contractors.
    • Identify and propose value engineering opportunities to optimize project costs without compromising quality or functionality.
    • Maintain records and produce periodical report of quantities and activities.
    • Valuation and inspection of completed work.
    • Analyze progress and write detailed reports on projects.
Job requirements and qualifications
    • B.Sc./HND Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
    • years of experience in quantity surveying or a related role within the construction industry.
    • Proficiency in cost estimating software and project management tools.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
    • Knowledge of construction contracts and legal aspects related to construction projects.
    • Professional certification is a plus.
