Job Summary

Develop, implement, and oversee health, safety, and environmental programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.

A crucial role in fostering a culture of safety, environmental stewardship, and continuous improvement across all facets of our palm oil production operations.

Job duties and responsibilities
  •  

    • Design, implement, and update health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures in accordance with local regulations and industry best practices.
    • Ensure effective communication and understanding of HSE policies among employees and stakeholders.
    • Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential hazards and develop strategies for their mitigation.
    • Collaborate with relevant departments to implement preventive measures and emergency response plans.
    • Stay abreast of local, regional, and international health, safety, and environmental regulations applicable to palm oil production.
    • Ensure the company's compliance with all relevant laws and standards.
    • Develop and deliver comprehensive HSE training programs for employees, contractors, and other stakeholders.
    • Foster a culture of safety and environmental awareness through regular communication and engagement initiatives.
    • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
    • Prepare and submit accurate and timely HSE reports to regulatory authorities and internal stakeholders.
    • Oversee environmental impact assessments and develop strategies for sustainable palm oil production.
    • Monitor and report on environmental performance, including waste management and resource conservation.
    • Develop and maintain emergency response plans to address potential crises such as fires, spills, or accidents.
    • Conduct drills and training exercises to ensure preparedness.

     

Job requirements and qualifications
    • PGD or its equivalent with at least 5 years working experience in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
    • Proven experience as an HSE Manager, preferably in the agriculture or palm oil production industry.
    • In-depth knowledge of HSE regulations and standards.
    • Strong leadership and communication skills.
    • Certification in relevant HSE disciplines is a plus.
    • Additional professional qualification in HSE and Fire Safety Management System
    • Working Knowledge in HSE systems and Audit techniques
    • Training in HIRAC.
