Job Summary

  • Provide IT support across a broad range of technologies and liaise across multiple areas of the business to support incidents, problems, and requests by restoring normal service operation as quickly as possible and minimize the adverse impact on business operations.

 

Responsible for providing technical assistance and support to end-users, ensuring the smooth operation of desktop systems and related peripherals.

Job duties and responsibilities
    • To ensure timely resolution of IT incidents and minimize downtime that is related to end-user IT services.
    • Build and install PCs, telephone systems, wireless networks, and peripheral devices (such as printers, scanners, mobile/smart phones) related to desktop infrastructure, in accordance with department standards.
    • Provides advice and guidance to colleagues regarding incidents.
    • Maintain installed PCs, networks, telephone systems and peripherals with routine maintenance including deployment of releases, upgrades, patches and hot-fixes.
    • Identify, log and resolve technical problems with software applications or network systems.
    • Third-level support of desktop-related incidents, including desk-side visits where necessary.
    • Identify potential changes and system improvements to present to senior team leaders for consideration and implementation.
    • Ensure that work is carried out within agreed service levels and in accordance with department guidelines.
    • Monitor and ensure client systems are updated with current patches, Anti-Virus definition and approved other end user compliance metrics (defined periodic reports may be required.
    • Performs all other duties as assigned by the Manager, IT User Support Services
Job requirements and qualifications
  • EDUCATION

    Minimum requirement:   OND or equivalent in any computer related field

    Added advantage: B Sc or equivalent in any computer related field

    EXPERIENCE

    Minimum requirement:  1-year relevant experience in medium sized manufacturing organization

    Added Advantage:  more than1 year relevant experience in medium sized manufacturing      organization.

     

    PROFESSIONAL (MEMBERSHIPS & CERTIFICATIONS)

    Minimum requirement:   Microsoft Certifications

    Added Advantage:    ITIL Foundation training and/or certification
