The HR Director is responsible for overseeing all human resources functions within the organization, ensuring the development and implementation of effective HR strategies and initiatives. This role involves managing recruitment, employee relations, performance management, compliance, and HR policies. The HR Director will work closely with senior management to support the overall mission and goals of the organization.
Job duties and responsibilities
Strategic HR Management:
Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with the organization’s goals and objectives.
Lead organizational development initiatives, including change management and culture enhancement.
Participate in strategic planning and decision-making processes.
Talent Acquisition and Recruitment:
Oversee the recruitment process, including job postings, candidate screening, interviewing, and selection.
Develop and implement effective talent acquisition strategies to attract top talent.
Ensure a positive candidate experience and an efficient onboarding process.
Employee Relations and Engagement:
Foster a positive work environment and promote employee engagement initiatives.
Address and resolve employee relations issues, including grievances and disciplinary actions.
Implement programs to enhance employee satisfaction and retention.
Performance Management:
Develop and manage performance appraisal systems to evaluate employee performance.
Provide guidance and support to managers on performance management and development plans.
Identify training and development needs and oversee the implementation of learning programs.
Compensation and Benefits:
Develop and manage competitive compensation and benefits programs.
Conduct salary benchmarking and job evaluations to ensure internal and external equity.
Oversee benefits administration and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
Compliance and Risk Management:
Ensure compliance with labour laws, regulations, and company policies.
Develop and implement HR policies and procedures.
Manage risk and ensure a safe and inclusive workplace.
HR Analytics and Reporting:
Use HR analytics to inform decision-making and track key HR metrics.
Prepare and present reports on HR activities, trends, and performance.
Continuously improve HR processes based on data insights.
Leadership and Team Management:
Lead and mentor the HR team, providing guidance and professional development.
Conduct performance evaluations and foster a collaborative team environment.
Ensure the HR team delivers high-quality support to the organization.
Job requirements and qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree or HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR) is preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 15 years of experience in human resources, with at least 10 years in a senior management or director role.
Skills:
Strong leadership and people management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
In-depth knowledge of labour laws and HR best practices.
Proficiency in HR software and systems (e.g., HRIS, ATS).
Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
Strong analytical and decision-making capabilities.
