Job Summary

We are looking for a Business Development Manager- (Merchant Acquiring) to join our team. The Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving offline merchant-acquiring businesses (Chain Stores, Restaurants, Supermarkets, FMCG, Pharmacy, etc), and developing strategies to increase sales revenue.

He/she will be responsible for developing strong customer relationships to generate a high volume of prospective merchants, partners and other stakeholders and providing guidance for issues directly affecting valued customers.

 

Job duties and responsibilities
    • Analysing customer feedback data to determine whether merchants are satisfied with Offline products and services. 
    • Providing insight into product development and competitive positioning. 
    • Analysing financial data and developing effective strategies to reduce business costs and increase revenue and profits. 
    • Conducting market research to identify new business opportunities.
    • Collaborating with executives to determine the most viable, cost-effective approach to pursue new business opportunities. 
    • Research the market for identifying new business opportunities. 
    • Explain to prospective merchants the advantages of the products or services offered and follow up with them to close the business deals. 
    • Developing plans and strategic initiatives for growing the Merchant Acquisition business and achieving the company's sales goals
    • Respond to the merchant's queries regarding the products in a timely fashion. 
    • Develop business proposals for new and existing merchants. 
    • Develop creative strategies to retain the merchants including interviewing them to take their feedback and incorporate it into the product roadmap. 
    • Comprehensive understanding of POS business, great understanding of agency banking and merchant scenarios
    • Develop in-depth knowledge about business development practices, marketing activities, prospective clients, and industry trends. 
    • Maintain a knowledge repository of clients, referrals, RFPs, prospects, and presentations. 
    • Manage merchant calls and appointments effectively for new opportunities. 
Job requirements and qualifications
    • B.Sc/HND in a related field 
    • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in business development and sales 
    • A professional, confident, and collaborative personality; an adept client relationship manager, capable of engaging in business-level and technical conversations at multiple levels of the organization. 
    • Prior experience in enterprise-level client-facing work 
    • Strong product sense and energized by the challenge of solving difficult user-related problems. 
    • Ability to lead complex integration conversations in a highly consultative and proactive manner. 
    • Curiosity mindset and willingness to continually learn and improve. 
    • Daily, Weekly and Monthly monitoring of KPI of the Merchant team within the assigned Region, ensuring all targets are met and exceeded consistently.
    • A passion for growing your career in a fintech sales role. 
    • In-depth understanding of sales systems to support successful sales delivery. 
    • Good knowledge of Fintech, finance, and digital banking 
    • Efficient multi-tasker and ability to work & deliver under pressure. 
    • Excellent negotiation and communication skills 
    • Excellent people and relationship management skills 
    • Demonstrated ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment and can easily adapt to change. 
    • Ability to influence others and create a sense of urgency for your cause
