Job Summary

The Head of Business Growth and Strategy is responsible for the development, implementation and execution of strategies that contribute to the Organization's strategic business goals. Key responsibilities attributed to this function will also include leading Innovation and Business Intelligence activities to identify new business opportunities.

Job duties and responsibilities
  • •  Develop, orchestrate, and implement strategies to ensure the company's long-term growth and profitability. 
    • Collaborate with other departments to set priorities, goals and implement the strategic initiatives. 
    • Champion new opportunities, working collaboratively to identify critical business needs and eliminate key roadblocks. 
    • Partner with revenue-generating departments to develop the corporate strategic growth plan, using fact-based analysis to identify growth and profit opportunities to shape the future of the company. 
    • Achieve sustainable financial growth by boosting sales and forging strong relationships with clients. 
    • Drive and harmonize Business growth & strategy team effort for optimum productivity. 
    • Promote cross-functional synergy to create systemic efficiency for goal delivery. 
    • Identify & ensure funnelling of prospective customers using a multi-sectoral approach. 
    • Integrate and coordinate sales operations of the group to optimize performance. 
    • Drive team cohesion with a focus on performance management. 
    • Create initiatives to increase customer lifetime value via customer-centricity and reduce customer churn to non-existence. 
    • Provide appropriate sales structure, coaching, support, and accountability for sales managers. 
    • Design strategic initiative for brand positioning. 
    • Use strong media instruments to create a reputable image of the company brand. 
    • Drive brand awareness, loyalty, perceived quality, and association aimed at increasing brand equity. 
    • Continue to create positive perception of the brand in the business ecosystem. 
    • Strategically create initiatives for customer acquisition, retention, and enhanced revenue. 
    • Use both online and offline media to aggregate brand goodwill and elongation of lifetime. 
    • Work with team members to achieve monthly and annual targets
     

Job requirements and qualifications
  • • BSC / HND in Social Sciences/Business Administration or related discipline. 
    • An MBA and/or any other related certification is an added advantage 
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Application 
    • Minimum of 12 years cognate experience 
    • Minimum 5 (Five) years in a managerial/leadership position 
    • Experience in strategy consulting or corporate strategy/business development/brand strategy/growth strategy is an added advantage
    • Strategic insight 
    • Collaborates with other members of formal and informal groups in the pursuit of common missions, vision, values, and mutual goals. 
    • Probing skill - Must be able to ask follow-up questions that gets the customer to open-up, then proffer solution or suggest product/services to address the customer’s pain points. 
    • Negotiation Skills 
    • Creativity - Produces new ideas, approaches, or insights; creates innovative ways of designing projects or outputs in own work area; produces a range of solutions to problems. 
    • Interpersonal Relationship skill - The ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with others; relates well with people from varied backgrounds and in different situations; shows understanding, courtesy, tact, empathy, concern, and politeness 
    • Decisiveness and Taking Initiative - Prefers quick and appropriate actions in situations, takes charge and capitalizes on opportunities. 
    • Business Acumen - The ability to recognize opportunities for new services and to act accordingly, takes measured risk into account. Applies knowledge of key business drivers in making sound business decisions and maximizing business results and organizational performance 
    • Communication - Expresses ideas clearly and concisely; passing information (written and Orally) to stakeholders appropriately 
    • Leadership and Accountability Skills – Ability to take ownership and work with little supervision 
    • Excellent Presentation Skills
